One of our LTT participants sent us great feedback about his journey towards a more sustainable mindset - and we want to share it with you!

"The Journey of Harmony: A Tale of Sustainability and Spirituality

Once upon a time, in the sunlit landscapes of Huelva, Spain, I found a new purpose after my retirement. As a retired agriculture engineer, I decided to volunteer at Fundación Monte Mediterráneo, a flourishing farm that served as a beacon of learning and cultural exchange. Here, I had the chance to work with students from Germany and other countries, helping them get hands-on experience in sustainable farming practices.

One day, I got involved in an exciting new project called "Sysmind," an initiative under Erasmus+ aiming to include sustainability and spirituality in educational curriculums for forestry and agriculture. The project brought together teachers and technicians from across Europe, all united by a common goal: to encourage a sense of environmental care and spiritual awareness among students.

The Sysmind project went on for over a year and included a series of enriching activities: three pre-online meetings, three face-to-face gatherings, and three post-online discussions. These meetings were more than mere formalities; they were opportunities to build lasting friendships and share cultural insights.

My journey with Sysmind took me beyond the borders of Spain to the beautiful landscapes of Austria and the enchanting forests of Latvia. In these countries, I met remarkable people whose passion for sustainability matched mine. Together, we came up with ideas and developed a comprehensive MOOC course. This online course was designed to help teachers include sustainability and spirituality in their lessons, respecting the diverse cultural backgrounds of their students.

Back home, I took part in the MOOC, eager to put its teachings into practice in both agricultural and farming education fields, and in my nature and mountaineering club. My dedication to creating a harmonious relationship with nature and nurturing the spiritual well-being of young learners was evident in everything I did.

Through Sysmind, I not only contributed to a noble cause but also made meaningful connections that went beyond geographical boundaries. The project had broadened my horizons and deepened my appreciation for the diverse cultures of Europe.

In the end, the tale of Sysmind is one of unity, learning, and the shared vision of a sustainable future. As I look back on my journey, I know that the seeds of sustainability and spirituality we helped plant will grow and flourish, benefiting generations to come."
